It was a busy successful weekend for our team of professionals, who participated in Science in the City event in Valletta, engaging in public outreach and teaching about anaesthesia.
A team of 5 anaesthetic trainees, 1 consultant and 3 anaesthetic nurses manner the stand, where people joined us and participated in different activities. The aim was to empower the public to dispel any fears and misconceptions surrounding anaesthesia and provide them with knowledge and firsthand experiences of this medical field. We also wanted to emphasize the importance of anaesthesia in medical procedures, our work in the Intensive Care Unit, Labour work and Pain clinics.
We had interactive demonstrations of airway skills, frequent simulations of induction of anaesthesia and engaging discussions with hundreds of people, of various ages, who visited our stand!
We provided insight into the process involved in anaesthesia thus enabling the audience to feel more confident and informed should they ever need it in their medical journey.
Thank you to the public for joining us during this very successful evening!
BIG shout out and appreciation to our group of dedicated and hard-working members who volunteered to help out in planning and manning this stand!
