The Association of Anaesthesiologists of Malta (AAM) through it's elected committee strives to look after the interests and wellbeing of its members at all levels, promote the highest standards in the practice of anaesthesiology and intensive care, as well as safeguard patient safety. It was not conceived as or intended to be a trade union, and as such has limited executive powers. The AAM committee is elected for a term of three years. Committee meetings are held on a monthly basis, and an annual general meeting, open to all members, is usually held in the first half of each calendar year. Who We are
The Association of Anaesthetists of Malta represents all the medical doctors practicing in the various fields of Anaesthesiology including Intensive Care Medicine and Chronic Pain Medicine. It is the National Anaesthesia Society of Malta. The main objective of the AAM is to work with and for its members to ensure the high standards of the profession. It represents the needs and interests of its members and all anaesthesiologists practicing in Malta and safeguards their well being. The AAM promotes and supports education and research in anaesthesia and medical specialities allied to anaesthesia. Who We are
Dear visitor, Thank you for taking the time to access the new website of our association. The Association of Anaesthesiologists of Malta was established in 1983 in order to promote the knowledge, safety and expertise of specialists in the field of Anaesthesiology, Intensive Care and Pain Medicine practicing in Malta and Gozo. As the speciality evolved, the knowledge in this field expanded significantly and the role of the association continued to evolve and adapt according to the needs of the time. Today, AAM has leading roles in the field of healthcare not just on a local but also on an international scale.
